FAQs
When should I RSVP by?
June 1st, 2026 is when we would like to have a final headcount for our wedding!
Who can we bring to the wedding?
Because of limited venue space, we unfortunately can't accommodate plus-ones beyond those named on the wedding invitation. However, we would love to celebrate with you and your children at the reception.
What is the best way to get to the Ceremony?
From Rte 9, take Rt 193 South to the stop sign at Rt 1 intersection in Cherryfield. Turn left (East). Travel East on Rt 1 to the stop sign in Harrington at Rt1/Rt1A intersection. Turn right (East) on Rt 1 and travel East 7.86 miles. Turn left onto the dirt road (there will be signs for the wedding). If you pass the Veterans Cemetary you have gone too far. At .55 miles, bear right and go another .65 miles. You have now arrives at the Balsam Valley Chapel!
Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?
In the Accommodations part of the site, we have listed a few ideas as far as places to rest before and after the wedding. The Flagpole View Cabins would be the closest accommodation to the site of the ceremony while the rest would be located in Ellsworth, ME. Any party that would like to set up camping accommodations, please contact either Ridge or Shaelyn and we can help set that up as well. :)
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
We will be serving BBQ at our wedding! If there are any food allergies or restrictions please let either Ridge or Shaelyn know!
Will there be an open bar?
Drinks will be provided at the reception however if there is a certain brand of drink that you prefer, please feel free to BYOB.
Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can bring it to the reception. We will have a designated table for gifts. A wedding card box will also be at our reception.
What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?
Please arrive at the chapel no earlier than 2:15PM, and no later than 2:45PM.
What is the dress code?
Our wedding dress code will be dressy casual! The key features of dressy casual outfits include a mix of dressy and casual pieces. For men, this might involve tailored trousers paired with a button-down shirt, dress shoes, and a coat jacket. For women, a nice dress, such as a midi or wrap dress, an elegant jumpsuit, or a stylish blouse paired with dress pants or a skirt.
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
We have hired a professional photographer to take photos during our wedding. Please ensure that all phones are off and put away during the ceremony.
Please respect our privacy and don't share photos of our wedding on social media until we make a formal wedding announcement with our professional images.
Please text Ridge or Shaelyn if there are any other questions!
